Within the last 2 weeks, Ansel Adams’ work has started to be output digitally – the originals are photographed with a Hassleblad with digital back, then printed on a 12 ink printer (like the one is use).

Visualization :: Ansel Adams on the Key to a Photograph

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

I found this short video of previously unreleased footage of Ansel Adams talking about the key to a photograph: visualization! The key takeaways from this quick video for me are great – it is exactly how I feel and what I do. Ansel articulates it well:

“…the whole key lies very specifically in seeing it in the minds eye – which we call visualization. The picture has to be there, clearly and decisively. If you have enough craft. If you have done your homework and your practice, you can then make the photograph you desire”
